High tides bring good fishing

The Fall and Spring Equinox almost always bring higher than normal tides. The people in Rockport fishing along Fulton Beach Road know that this is a prime time to fish Little Bay. I enjoy fishing shell reefs under these conditions. Shrimp and a popping cork works great north of town…ie ( Carlos, Mesquite, Copano, St Charles and San Antonio Bays) Around Redfish Bay…Finger Mullet, Pin Perch and cut mullet are working on Redfish and Speckled Trout. A fishing guide almost needs all three because one day the fish want one bait and the next day they prefer the other. For those folks that don’t want to use bait, this is a perfect time to throw those gold spoons and soft plastic jigs. Drifting super shallow flats with a drift anchor or wading shore lines are both productive under these high tide conditions.  Good luck everyone!
